The study of emotional and affective aspects of religious practice, as well as the discourse about emotions and affects in religious text and speech.

Applicants are expected to have a background in coursework in religious studies and to evidence preparation for the interests they want to pursue in doctoral studies. 

Prospective students wishing to bridge between theory of or the historical study of emotions and medieval Islamic religion and practice are welcome to apply.
