Mile of History Association
Visit this website to learn about historic Benefit Street, steps away from the Brown University campus. Key stops on the Mile of History include the Providence Athenæum, a historic library where Edgar Allan Poe once visited, and the RISD Museum, which has free admission on Sundays. Coffee lovers should also check out Providence favorites Dave's Coffee and Brown Bee Coffee

Rhode Island State House
The beautiful Rhode Island State House features the world’s fourth-largest self-supported marble dome. Nearby attractions include the Providence Place Mall and the Riverwalk. Foodies should also check out Track 15, the popular food hall that features outposts of some of Rhode Island's most popular restaurants,

Prospect Terrace
Visit for the most iconic panoramic view of the Providence. The short walk from Brown also showcases homes built in the 17 and 1800s.

RISD Museum 
Explore over 100,000 objects ranging from ancient artifacts to contemporary fashion at the Rhode Island School of Design's museum. 

Providence Art Club
Gaze at art housed in Thomas Street's most picturesque buildings. Visit their website for information about current exhibits.


Food Districts

Thayer Street
Bustling with BrownU students, Thayer is closest to campus and great for snacks, coffee, baked goods, takeouts. Some favorite spots include Den Den (Korean), Kabob & Curry (Indian), Heng (Thai) and Ceremony (Asian-inspired coffee and tea).

Federal Hill (Little Italy) 
Centered on Atwells Avenue, this district is famous for authentic Italian dining and other international cuisine. The GoPVD website, linked above, showcases this vibrant neighborhood.

Fox Point
Charming streets with cute cafes and restaurants, great for walks! Most of the businesses are on Wickenden Street but don't miss Hope Street and Ives Street. Great spots include Pizza Marvin, Kow Kow (ice cream) and Amy's Place (breakfast).
