Prof. Joseph Winters, Duke University, to deliver keynote at Graduate Student Conference

On March 6, 2020 at 6pm, Professor Joseph Winters, Duke University, will present "Death, Spirituality, and the Matter of Blackness," as part of the 2020 Religious Studies Graduate Student Conference, titled, "Death."

Prof. Wintersthe Alexander F. Hehmeyer Associate Professor of Religious Studies and African and African American Studies at Duke University. He also holds secondary positions in English and Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies. His interests lie at the intersection of black religious thought, African-American literature, and critical theory. His talk explores how Black Lives Matters and Afropessism are both expressions of black spirituality.
